Care Guide

Glitter

Glitter Fabric + -

Glitter Fabric

This delicate fabric can be damaged by friction, such as a full length dress on a shoe, or a bag brushing against a leg. With wear, the fabric will lose a small amount of glitter and as this is the nature of the fabric, it is not considered to be a fault. If an area of the product becomes bald, the glitter cannot be reapplied. We therefore recommend glitter fabric merchandise is handled with utmost care. Do not treat with any liquids containing alcohol as this will cause permanent damage.

Coarse Glitter Fabric + -

Coarse Glitter Fabric

Please be aware that some loss of glitter may occur with wear. We advise against wearing coarse glitter fabric against delicate items of clothing, such as chiffon, as the abrasive finish may cause snagging. We do not recommend treating with any liquids containing alcohol as this will damage the metallic finish.

Lamé Glitter + -

Lamé Glitter

Lamé glitter offers a more durable finish than other glitter fabrics, however some loss of glitter is still to be expected - this is not a fault and is the nature of the material. If a glitter area becomes bald, the glitter cannot be reapplied. We advise against treating with any liquids containing alcohol as this will damage the metallic finish.

Leather

Mirror Leather + -

Mirror Leather

The metallic leather finish to this material may develop wrinkles with constant flexing; this is considered the natural wear of the product and not a fault. Should the leather become wrinkled or scratched, there is no way to restore it. While treating the leather with any alcohol based liquids will damage the metallic finish, Mirror leather can be cleaned by gently wiping it with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately. Products made of mirror leather should be stored away from direct sources of humidity and heat.

Metallic Lizard Print Leather + -

Metallic Lizard Print Leather

As with all metallic leathers, the metallic finish may be removed with wear and abrasion. This is not a fault and the metallic finish cannot be re-applied. We advise against treating with any liquids containing alcohol as this will damage the metallic finish. Clean the product by gently wiping with a soft damp cloth and drying immediately. Do not use any cleaning products.

Printed Pony + -

Printed Pony

Printed pony is made from calf hair that has been bleached and then printed. This is a delicate material and should areas become bald it is impossible to reverse the damage. A bag made of this fabric should always be carried so the same side is in contact with the body. Loose dirt can be removed with a lightly damp cloth and left to dry naturally.

Glitter Leather + -

Glitter Leather

As with all glitter leathers, the glitter finish may be removed with wear and abrasion. This is not a fault and the glitter finish cannot be re-applied. We advise against treating with any liquids containing alcohol as this will damage the finish. Clean the product by gently wiping with a soft damp cloth and drying immediately. Do not use any cleaning products.

Elaphe + -

Elaphe

Elaphe is an exotic watersnake from Asia. Special care should be taken with products made from elaphe and with time, use and atmospheric differences, some of the scales may lift. This is a natural property of snakeskin and once this lifting occurs it is unfortunately not possible to reverse. Avoid using liquids containing alcohol on elaphe with a metallic finish.

Suede + -

Suede

Suede is a very absorbent material and therefore marks easily. We recommend using Woly or Furniture Clinic suede protector to keep products in good condition. A good quality suede brush may be used to remove loose dirt but care should be taken as excessive use can cause permanent damage.

Grainy Calf (Boots) + -

Grainy Calf (Boots)

Calf Leather is often used for boots due to its natural strength and breathability. Please be aware that grainy calf leather can still mark, however it can often be repaired and refreshed by a reputable repair company. Loose dirt can be wiped with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately, away from direct heat. We recommend using Woly or Furniture Clinic leather protector for grainy calf leather products.

Grainy Calf (Bags) + -

Grainy Calf (Boots)

The grainy calf leather used for handbags has a thin protective coating. However, despite this and its natural resilience, grainy calf leather can still become marked. A leather protection cream (Woly or Furniture Clinic) may be used to maintain the calf leather, or alternatively contact Customer Care regarding our handbag refresh service. Loose dirt can be wiped with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately, away from direct heat.

Classic Calf + -

Classic Calf

Classic calf leather is very absorbent and therefore we suggest clients apply a leather protector (Woly or Furniture Clinic) before use to prevent irreversible staining or watermarks. Over time and with exposure to light, this leather will gradually become darker in colour. This mellowing effect is regarded as a natural feature of the material, and is not a defect. Light scratches on the leather can be buffed away using clean fingers to rejuvenate the natural oils on the leather.

Patent Leather + -

Patent Leather

Patent leather is made from real leather finished with a mixture of acrylic and polyurethane which gives a longer lasting, durable finish. Dirt adhering to patent can be easily removed with a damp cloth. With wear, patent leather may eventually lose its glossy finish. Patent will easily absorb ink or pigments so we advise that products are kept in their dust bag when not in use and avoid contact with dark or heavily printed materials. Care should be taken to avoid contact with alcohol or any type of solvent.

Deerskin + -

Deerskin

Deerskin is strong, resilient leather with a luxurious finish. Please be aware that any metallic finishing may wear off with time and use. Care should be taken to avoid contact with liquids containing alcohol or solvents. A damp cloth may be used to wipe away any loose dirt.

Nappa + -

Nappa

Nappa is a very soft material and shoes made from it will stretch with time and so we recommend allowance is made for this when selecting your size. Nappa is naturally very porous, and therefore coloured creams and moisturising agents should be avoided as these may leave watermarks which are very difficult to remove.

Biker Leather (shoes) + -

Biker Leather (shoes)

Biker leather is extremely soft meaning that it can be easily scuffed with use. However, this can usually be resolved by a good repair company. As with Nappa, this soft leather will stretch with use which should be accounted for during fitting. Light stains can be gently treated with a baby wipe. Alternatively, a light facial cleanser can be used at your discretion to buff up tired or marked areas of the product.

Biker Leather (bags) + -

Biker Leather (bags)

Biker leather is soft but durable. Watermarks may occur on light colours; we recommend using a quality leather protector and to avoid contact with water. Light stains can be gently treated with a baby wipe. Alternatively a light facial cleanser can be used at your discretion to buff up tired or marked areas of the product.

Suede Shearling + -

Suede Shearling

The suede outer surface of the product will have the same care requirements as any other suede product. The shearling lining is relatively resilient to wear but may eventually bald slightly from abrasion.

Nappa Shearling + -

Nappa Shearling

The Nappa outer surface of the product will have the same care requirements as any other Nappa product. The shearling lining is relatively resilient to wear but may eventually bald slightly from abrasion.

Vacchetta + -

Vacchetta

With time and exposure to light, this leather will gradually become darker in colour. This mellowing process is regarded as a natural feature of the material and should not be considered a defect. However, to minimise this, we suggest storing products away from direct exposure to light. This material is highly absorbent and once a stain is deeply ingrained it can be impossible to remove. We recommend that customers use a suitable leather protection, such as Woly or Furniture Clinic products. On items where mirror leather is used with Vacchetta, the protector must be water based only and then used very lightly.

Neon Patent Degradé + -

Neon Patent Degradé

Please note that the highly complex process used to achieve neon patent degradé means that each pair of shoes is unique and original. We do not recommend any cleaning agents are used on this material as solvents have been used to create the degradé effect. Any loose dirt can be wiped away using a damp cloth and dried immediately. Shoes should be stored individually in dust bags to prevent colour transfer.

Suede Mirror Degradé + -

Suede Mirror Degradé

Please note that the highly complex process used to achieve suede mirror degradé means that each pair of shoes is unique and original. We do not recommend any cleaning agents are used on this material as solvents have been used to create the degradé effect. Any loose dirt can be wiped away using a damp cloth and dried immediately. Shoes should be stored individually in dust bags to prevent colour transfer. Please be aware that there may be some minor creasing on the mirror section of the leather. This is not considered a defect and is a natural feature of this unique material.

Metallic Cracked Leather + -

Metallic Cracked Leather

A detailed artisan process is used to create metallic cracked leather, resulting in skins that are unique. As with all metallic finishes, with time and abrasion, some surface finishing may be lost. Care for this material as you would for suede products. Due to the metallic finish on the leather, liquids containing alcohol or solvents should be avoided.

Pearlised Grainy Leather + -

Pearlised Grainy Leather

As with all metallic finishes, with time and abrasion, some surface finishing may be lost. Due to the metallic finish on the leather, liquids containing alcohol or solvents should be avoided. Products can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately. We advise against the use of any cleaning products.

Glossy Calf Leather + -

Glossy Calf Leather

Calf is relatively strong leather but care should still be taken as it can become marked with wear and will require occasional maintenance. A leather protection cream may be used to maintain the leather or contact Customer Care regarding our handbag refreshing service. Any loose dirt can be wiped with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately away from direct heat.

Matt Lizard Print Leather + -

Matt Lizard Print Leather

The lizard print effect is created by double embossing calf skin. This calf skin base results in a leather that is strong and durable. Care should taken to avoid prolonged abrasion as this may cause damage to the raised texture of this material.

Perforated Suede and Nappa + -

Perforated Suede and Nappa

Please care for this material in the same way as standard suede or nappa. Please be aware that the perforations will allow the material to stretch more and this should be accounted for during fitting.

Coarse Metallic Leather + -

Coarse Metallic Leather

Please be aware that as with all metallic finishes, with time and abrasion, some surface finishing may be lost. Due to the metallic finish on the leather, we advise avoiding liquids containing alcohol or solvents. This material is very absorbent and therefore once a stain is deeply ingrained it can be impossible to remove. We recommend that products in pale colours are sprayed with a suitable suede protector (Woly or Furniture Clinic). Due to the metallic finish, the protector must be water based and not contain alcohol or solvents. A soft, rubber suede brush may also be used to lightly clean away loose dirt but should be used with care to ensure that material is not damaged.

Grainy Calf with Micro Studs + -

Grainy Calf with Micro Studs

Please be aware that the micro studs may cause snagging or damage to delicate materials such as chiffon. Whilst grainy calf leather has a natural resilience, it can still become marked. A leather protection cream (Woly or Furniture Clinic) may be used to maintain the calf leather, or alternatively Customer Care regarding our handbag refresh service. Loose dirt can be wiped with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately away from direct heat.

Suede and Patent Degradé + -

Suede and Patent Degradé

Please note that the highly complex process used to achieve suede and patent degradé means that each item is unique and original. We do not recommend any cleaning agents are used on this material as solvents have been used to create the degradé effect. Any loose dirt should be wiped away using a soft damp cloth. When cleaning the suede, a soft nubuck rubber brush should be used. Coarser wire suede brushes should be avoided as these will damage the patent finishing.

Glossy Calf Leather + -

Glossy Calf Leather

Calf is a relatively strong leather but can still become marked with wear. Any loose dirt can be wiped with a soft damp cloth and dried immediately away from direct heat. Due to the finishing film on glossy calf leather, solvents and liquids containing alcohol should be avoided.

Hologram Patent + -

Hologram Patent

Patent leather may lose its glossy finish with use but should still remain smooth. This leather easily absorbs ink or pigments from other items they are in contact with and so contact with darker or heavily printed materials should be avoided. Always keep products in their dust bags when not in use. Care should be taken to avoid contact with alcohol or any type of solvent. Dirt adhering to patent can be easily removed with a damp cloth.

Nappa is naturally very porous, and therefore coloured creams and moisturising agents should be avoided as these may leave watermarks which are very difficult to remove.

Snakeskin

Lace Print Python + -

Lace Print Python

Please avoid the use of cleaning products on this material as it is likely to dry out the python skin and remove the oils used during processing. Loose dirt may be removed by using a soft brush or cloth.

Glitter Python + -

Glitter Python

We advise against cleaning products being used on this material as it is likely to dry out the python skin and remove the oils used during processing. Loose dirt may be removed using a soft brush or cloth. With wear, the fabric may lose a small amount of glitter; this is the nature of the material and is not a fault. If an area of the product becomes bald, we are unfortunately unable to reapply the glitter.

Flannel + -

Flannel

Any loose dirt can be removed using a soft cloth or brush. We would advise against any cleaning products being used, as this will damage the water resistant finishing on the flannel fabric.

Pleated / Herringbone Elaphe + -
