Jimmy Choo’s collaboration with boundary-pushing label Off-White™ by Virgil Abloh has been the cult capsule of the season with fans including Bella Hadid, Rihanna and Kendall Jenner queuing up to wear the line. Combining the flawless quality and construction that Jimmy Choo is renowned for with Virgil’s avant-garde aesthetic, the collection is at once singular and statement-making. Here Evangelie Smyrniotaki, the Athens-based stylist and influencer behind the Style Heroine platform, explains exactly how she integrates these innovative designs into her everyday wardrobe, and just why the collaboration is so unique.

"The collection is the perfect reflection of my attitude to style"
Bringing a bold, creative flair to the conversation, the Off-White™ c/o Jimmy Choo tie-in has, Evangelie explains, nailed the balance between through provoking, experimental design and wearability. “The collection is the perfect reflection of my attitude to style: femininity mixed with something entirely unexpected. Take the Sara boots which combine the feminine and the sporty, or the Mary pumps which bring a blend of femininity and drama. We are all multiple personalities and completely unique people who don’t need to placed in a box to define ourselves as only one thing. I always say that my style is multi-dimensional, because that’s what my personality is like and the creativity and fusion of styles behind this collection totally encapsulates that.”
“We are all multiple personalities and completely unique people”
“It is very, very difficult to be original these days,” Evangelie muses, crossing her coltish limbs in a pair of floral, bow-decked pumps from the hot-off-the-catwalk Off-White™ c/o Jimmy Choo collaboration. “Fashion and design as industries have been producing ideas for decades, so it has become incredibly hard to truly innovate. There’s such a thought process behind Virgil’s work; he’s a visionary and somehow has the ability to forecast the mood of the future. It’s like he’s the fortune-teller of fashion–because of course, the ideas still have to appeal to customers and feel right for the moment which is another part of the magic.”

Here are Evangelie’s tips on making each of the Off-White™ c/o Jimmy Choo styles work for you too:
The MARY pumps
This look is both romantic and 80’s edgy, yet totally flattering for your legs. That’s what I love about this collection, the styles really do complement your shape. However interesting the design, shoes have to make you feel attractive. Comfort is also a factor and you can definitely feel the quality in these pumps. I went for a print clash for this outfit, which is quite unusual for me, but these shoes work so well with a bold contrast.
The SARA boots
I loved the white SARA boots, they were my absolute favourites. They’re sexy and look great with jeans tucked into them as that helps elongate the leg. I then chose a simple blazer to keep the focus on the boots. I’d say this outfit would work for a dinner but also for day time too. The white is the perfect white – not too yellow, but not too faded, it’s those little details that make all the difference.
The CLAIRE pumps
These pumps are such a standout piece, so you can’t overload your look with other accessories or a fussy outfit. You have to keep things simple to create a sense of balance between the creative and the wearable—that’s the best way to incorporate statement accessories into any wardrobe.
The JANE sandals
The JANE sandals are so feminine and sexy and you’ll definitely wear them all summer long. One of my favourite ways to style an outfit is to keep it to three colour blocks—here the red shoes, white skirt and deep denim jacket. These bright sandals worked so well in this palette. I always love the three colour rule because it keeps things graphic and elegant.
The VICTORIA pumps
The femininity of the VICTORIA pumps worked really well with a raw denim skirt and jacket. I always love to combine something that feels ladylike with something a little more masculine. With fashion the interest is always in the tension between opposites.
The ELISABETH boots
The ELISABETH boots are really easy. Here I’m wearing a classic and timeless outfit of skinny jeans and a sweater, but these boots just completely transform it into something special, taking it up a style notch. These styles don’t present any boundaries, ultimately because they are flattering and the fabrics used are beyond amazing.
