SUSTAINABILITY
ECO-FEATURE PRODUCTS
We commit to increasing our use of responsibly sourced materials and exploring the potential of alternative materials.
We are driven to find creative solutions that increase our use of traceable, responsibly sourced, recycled and recyclable materials across our products and collections
We aim to mainstream eco-feature products and materials at Jimmy Choo by 2025 and are tracking progress on certified content from collection to collection
One example of our commitment to responsibly sourced materials is our Diamond Light Maxi trainer. Our Diamond Light Maxi leather trainers use leather sourced from Italian tanneries that are certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG). The knit version of our Diamond Light Maxi trainers incorporate at least 50% certified lower-impact textiles, such as recycled polyester and nylon, the soles are partly made from recycled rubber.
We are also incorporating improved materials across the paper and cardboard used in our shoe boxes and shopping bags and other components of on-product packaging including tissue paper, dust bags and shoe sticks. This includes more responsibly sourced and recycled content certified via FSC Mix. Where possible we are also replacing plastic and foam packaging materials with innovative alternatives such as bamboo sheets.
Our preferred certifications across products and packaging include LWG, GOTS, GRS, RCS, OCS, RWS and FSC.
Our definition of ‘eco-feature products’: An eco-feature product has outer materials and linings that use more than 50% of one or more of the following leathers and textiles:
Leather sourced from Gold and Silver LWG Certified tanneries based outside South America
Recycled or re-used leather that would otherwise go to waste
Chrome or metal-free tanned leather
Certified textiles (certified with GOTS, OCS, GRS, RCS, RWS or FSC)
Alternative materials – such as new plant-based innovations
