Jimmy Choo Unveils An Exclusive Ginza Concept Store Designed By Crosby Studios
Jimmy Choo has joined forces again with architecture and design agency, Crosby Studios to create a one-of-a-kind immersive shopping experience in Ginza, Tokyo. Harry Nuriev, founder and creative director of Crosby Studios has expanded upon the recent pop up in Avenue Montaigne, to introduce a new interior concept. Expanding over 300 square metres and across two floors, the store will be Jimmy Choo’s biggest retail space in Japan and fourth biggest globally.
The store brings the glamorous and innovative values integral to Jimmy Choo’s DNA to life with references to the back of house cleverly integrated throughout. Our iconic oyster-hued shoe boxes are presented in a floor-to-ceiling display in an open space that is accented by a luxurious golden wall. Running throughout the centre of the ground floor, a 20-metre long blue sofa serves as a statement, in sumptuous blue velvet and suede, contrasting with the metallic wall panels. A double height staircase leads up to a dedicated floor showcasing the men’s collections, where a secret ‘stock’ room has been crafted – elevating the concept of the back of house into an inviting experience.
«I am so excited to be working with Harry again, bringing his artistry for invigorating and elevating the unexpected in one of my favourite cities. The space he has created for Ginza is the epitome of the beauty of simplicity. He has an art for distilling the brand essence to its purest form, playing with the utilitarian to create a glamourous and immersive experience.» – Sandra Choi, Creative Director
«For this project, we turned the BOH (Back of House) into a luxury retail store, paying homage to the minimalist design principles of Ginza.» – Harry Nuriev, Founder and Creative Director of Crosby Studios
All over the world, Jimmy Choo is synonymous with glamour and optimism, qualities which are reflected by this exquisitely considered boutique. The inviting and dynamic environment provides the perfect backdrop to the brand’s innovative designs. The new boutique is home to Jimmy Choo’s complete collection across women’s and men’s in addition to a capsule of exclusive shoes and handbags created to celebrate the opening, including the iconic Bon Bon and exquisite Ixia heeled pump. Pieces are decorated with gilded orchids, blurring the lines between jewellery and accessories, with asymmetric flowers, meaning no two are exactly alike.
Jimmy Choo celebrated the opening of the new Ginza store with an exclusive event hosted by Creative Director, Sandra Choi. The evening saw stylish guests including Ayaka Miyoshi, Hayato Isomura, and Aoi Morikawa.
