Prêt-à-Portea

At The Berkeley with Jimmy Choo

Celebrating the Berkeley hotel’s first ever Prêt-à-Portea collaboration, model and photographer Candice Lake invited five of her fashionable friends for an afternoon filled with tea and edible delights inspired by the most stylish Jimmy Choo accessories.

Berkeley Prêt-à-Portea

In the honeyed walls and sandalwood scented Opus suite, six of London’s most fashionable women talk over one another in hungered excitement.

“Those are your shoes!” exclaims host Candice Lake, pointing to stylist Martha Ward’s glittery Gala slippers while displaying its chocolate confectionery counterpart and collapsing in awed laughter.

“Afternoon tea is something you do with your girlfriends”, stylist Martha Ward asserts to blogger friends Camille Charrière and Peony Lim as they sip loose-leaf tea and nibble on egg brioche buns and Loch Fyne smoked salmon miniature sandwiches.

“Afternoon tea is very British”, agrees Tatler Style Editor Sophie Goodwin, tucking into The Candy clutch shaped cake. “When everything’s falling apart, there’s something comforting in a cup of tea and piece of cake”.
