DISCOVER THE POWER OF PERSONAL STYLE AND CHOSEN FAMILY

In celebration of Pride 2022, we have teamed up with Vogue and LGBTQI+ collective Sink The Pink to create a special video exploring the transformative power of personal style and chosen family.

Throughout its thirteen-year history, Sink The Pink - the legendary London LGBTQI+ collective and club night – has acted as a safe-haven for countless members of the queer community. Co-founder Glyn Fussell jokily describes the collective’s members as everything from “social misfits and broken biscuits” to “one giant detention class of oddballs and rejects”. However, he also admits that the sense of community Sink The Pink created has had a truly profound effect on, not only him, but everyone who has passed through it over the years - “I feel like we’ve all somehow saved each other”.

Sink The Pink alumni agree; performer Le Fil credits the collective and the sense of belonging it offered with empowering he to chase her dreams, “when you find your family, you can do bigger things together” while Drag Race UK contestant Asttina Mandella asserts that being a part of Sink The Pink gave her, and fellow members, a platform to showcase their difference and tell their stories - “tell you,” as she puts it.

An emphasis on glamour, self-expression and inclusivity is something Sink The Pink and Jimmy Choo share, and which is underscored by our commitment to extended sizing and ongoing partnership with The Trevor Project – the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organisation for LGBTQ+ youth.

As Sink The Pink - which announced that it would come to an end this year - prepares for its most momentous party ever, the collective has come together to reflect on their indelible contribution to the queer landscape, the power of personal style and chosen family in this collaborative film.
